Seijitai

Uh ? Do we stated somewhere that those were already done ? :inquisitive: If so, it's an error... Music is coded since last week, and I'm currently working with Tomte on portraits...

Hmm.. there is currently a great battle around Lake Toya. One in the long row of battles rich against poor und rich against nature, intelligence says.

Loading screens finished, Generals portraits finished, currently working on Civilians portraits... Some samples will be posted when finished... So, work in a good progress !

Thanks ! In the same department, captain banners, family portraits and dead portraits... If everything goes as scheduled, this department should be finished by the end of the month... :2thumbsup:

Besides your department what other departments are still uncomplete?:sweatdrop:

Seijitai
07-13-2008, 11:28
Lol, I won't tell how others department are going... For the simple reason that as I don't work in them, I'm don't know how far they are progressing... Graphics are currently progressing really well, and sounds are about to be implemented... :smash:

One question

please dont take offense on it (i mean it!) :sweatdrop:

but.... wandering through the pages of this forum, i saw several earlier posts (of 2006-2007) saying mostly this:

' We're near the release ! '
or ' We're close, real close'
' Perhaps in two months ! '

This two years ago, so i was wondering, how you guys were near the releases if there are still things to be done like Seij's department for example? you guys were considering on a beta release first or something else?

i'm just curious about this, i dont want to be rude :2thumbsup:

Oh but dead portraits are easy, simply batch-convert the living ones into grayscale right? :inquisitive:
Anyway, I'm more interested in the troops department... <*hint, hint - troops - hint, hint*> :wink2:

The most common answer we use when we talk of the mod release is "we're getting closer"... And we do, as each time we progress or finish something, there is less to do...

But understand well this : there is some departments with no workers at this time. Why ? Simply because either they left, they did not produce what they were supposed to do or there was no workers at all to fill some departments...

Want an example ? Unit cards (1000) were done by myself, with some help from other members, last year, in around two months and a half... After that, I started to work on Generals portraits... Then I was dragged out of the mod by real life business an so... I headed back a month and a half ago, and finished the portraits a week ago... So, how long did these 90 cards took ? 1 year...

Another example ? Music. I coded and tested it a month ago, works well, fine... Wanna laugh a bit ? I'm the fourth worker of that department... First one had to quit for personal reasons, second one stated "music is ready" then never went online again, third was a big liar...

As I stated it a few times (and I'm tired to do so...), Ran no Jidai will be released because there is a few persons working on it who want to have it released.

When ? I don't know. When it will be finished... We work when we can, when we want, and with only a few helpful hands...

If some people say we are too slow, they can join and help...
They can't because they don't know anything in modding ?
Tell them to do what I did, read tutorials and learn, then head back and join...

Enough for tonight. Gentlemen, good night.

Sounds? I could try sounds. What kind of sounds? Is it battle sounds (muskets firing, swords swinging)? Or is it more music (adrenaline-pumping music of the strategy map)? Or is it more campaign and main menu sounds (the thrilling noise that plays when you click "Continue Campaign")? If it's anything to do with voice acting however... Let's just say I don't an awe-inspiring Japanese accent. ~:joker:

Hey, I'm really looking forward to this mod, and I would like to help. I have some experence coding with the Inca Total War Team.

The only problem is that I am going to have zero time to work in the next couple weeks, but hopefully after that I can devote about an hour a day to work on it...

What kind of coding do you guys need? Units? Buildings?

Just let me know :)

Hi everybody,

After having seen the quality of the screenshots of the building and units, it is not surprising it takes a long time to finish this mod.

But I walked around threads from different periods, I have the feeling that after a period of stagnation, works are again progressing well.

Anyway thanks to all those who design it, I am a great fan of japanese warfare and your mod will be a king of Shogun total war II, which The creative assembly doesn't seem to want to make.

Best regards,

Cyril.

^ Indeed

Changes at this point are, and I'll quote the TWC Post:

""
Yes they're updating, but in the Dev Forum not the Public forum, I know its a shame since the public doesn't get to see the updates .
Well, they all have their own reasons for doing so, I guess.

Still I think its at least fair I tell you about the fronts that are being updated:

-Unit Descriptions by Juggernaut
-Menu Design by Earl Grey
