I have finally fixed the bugs that kept causing this mod to crash, so I can now release the first version of this mod. This mod currently contains the Crusader and Renaissance campaigns; based on the 1200 and 1300 campaigns of my Eras Total War mod, respectively. The 1547 campaign has not yet been finished, so it is not included in this version of the mod.

Eras Total Conquest Installation Guide

0) Download this mod (conquest 0.1.7z) and unpack it using 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/).

1) Copy and paste all the files in the 'Conquest' folder into the Medieval II Total War directory (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War').

2) Double click on the 'conquest.bat' and select the campaign you want to play (type either '1', '2', or '3' and press 'enter'). If you are using Vista you have to be logged in as the administrator or the mod won't copy any of the files.

3) If the menu closes after copying the files without loading the mod double click on the 'conquest.bat' and type '0' (the number zero) and press 'enter'. This should load the mod with the files you've copied.

Additional Files
If the sound does not work copy the whole 'Medieval II Total War\data\sound' folder to the 'Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest\data' folder.

Known issues

I am aware of the following problems and I am working on a way to fix them.

1) If you click on several factions, rather than just choosing one and starting the game, the mod will crash (to counter this choose the faction you want to play first, then start the game).

2) When you try to play a Custom Battle and set the Period to "All" the mod crashes before you can select the units. This is because the AoR system makes more units available to each faction than the Custom Battle can handle. If you wish to play a Custom Battle you need to set the Period to "Early".

Though the first Crusade brought great success for the Crusaders, the next four crusades achieved little. But after the sixth crusade Jerusalem is once again under Christian control, thanks to the diplomacy of the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II. Constantinople is also under Christian control as part of the Latin Empire, however the Eastern Roman Empire is not prepared to let foreigners remain in their capital and are prepared to take it back by force. However a new power is emerging in the east, the Mongolian Empire. Though they have lost their leader Genghis Khan they have not lost their will to fight and expand their Empire further into Asia and Europe.

Technology

At the start of this mod Light Mail or Lamellar are the strongest armour available to the player and most of the infantry available wield spears. Cannons will become available later on.

The failure of the Crusades and the loss of the Holy Lands has been a bitter blow to many Christians. However a new Crusade had begun in Central Europe to convert the Lithuanian Pagans to Christianity. Though some have joined this Crusade many are preparing to fight against what they consider to be greater enemeies. To the East the Golden Horde has begun expanding to the Kingdoms of Poland and Hungary, while in the South the Ottoman Empire is continuing to expand into Roman lands. However there is an even greater threat looming that may destroy the whole world.

Technology

At the start of this mod Heavy Mail and Lamellar are the strongest armour available to the player, though most of the infantry available wield spears there are more units available that use swords. Cannons are e available at the start of this mod, with plate armour and guns becoming available later.

After their victory at the Battle of Mühlberg the Habsburgs now have considerable influence over the world. The Holy Roman Emperor, the king of Austria, the King of Spain are all members of this family and support it's ideals. However the Habsburgs still have two enemies which threaten Catholicism. The first is the Muslim Ottoman Empire, which has been expanding into Europe and will begin annexing the Austrian Habsburgs' land unless they're stopped. The second are the northern Protestant countries. To protect Catholicism it may be necessary to go to war with these countries to show them whose side God is really on.
