There going to be overpowered as well which is the worst thing. Fair enough you might not be able to charge them head on any more but imagine just one elephant unit on your flank, game over.


Ah well at least they aren't mounted with cannons this time, I hope.. :inquisitive:

In an age where every man has a gun an elephant is just a big, fleshy, soft target that is next to impossible to miss. :2thumbsup:

I reckon they might only be useful against cavalry, because I can't see those elephants charging against a line of guns.

As with many things in millitary or life in fact, its all about timing, charging the Elephants whilst the target is loaded is stupid, but after a volley and its loading, that unit is long gone.

True, I suppose sending the Elephants in after your infantry have engaged might be a way to make good use of them, provided that they're protected from artillery. Still reckon they will be useful only in rather particular situations.

Yeah. Still, I'm rather certain that in MP unlimited money battles on a flat map you could just spam them and that would be rather annoying to deal with.

I think if the person was rushing and you wasn't expecting eles, you might have some touble, but still. In a normal game, some good cannon shots and some musket shots if need be would take care of my poor Eles!

I don't see any sense for elephants in this era. Elephants are okay for rome but not in medieval or later.

They were used by both the Mughal and the Maratha, although probably not to the extent they will be in-game.
