I'm an old guy, with a fair amount of patience...if such a forum were erected, I'd be glad to help out there. [/QUOTE]

I think it is an excellent idea (don't take me for a newb, despite the post count.)

The day Mith gets rags the day is the same day Soly posts a non altered picture. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif

Newbie friendly forum is a horrible idea IMHO. It separates the newbies and keeps them from getting into the regular flow of things. Much better to just be a friendly patron and whenever you see a newbie say hello and welcome them and answer their question.

If there is a newbie forum then there has to be people who are willing to spend their free time answering a few basic questions over and over, gradually growing madder and madder. Much better that the recent newbies answer the questions that they had answered until they in turn become jaded and only visit to join the "are they real" Babe thread debates.

I agree with Shiro on this...

Anything that separates users is a bad idea. IMO the word 'newbie' must be avoided as much as poss. Besides we re all friendly here and new visitors will surely be welcomed and responded to in the other forums.

Mith - I'm only kidding with you here. Really. We appreciate everything you do for .org. However, the more you ask to be a moderator the less appealing your candidacy becomes. Anyway I have nothing to do with choosing moderators anyway. I'm sorry I got involved. I was just trying to be funny. Obviously I've failed. Sorry.

Don't turn this into a debate guys. I'm not moving your posts but please if you want to discuss this further do it in OT.
