Hey guys, I want to present the mod Rohan Total War to you, it has been under development for more than a month now.

FAQ:

Q: What is this mod about?
A: This is a modification for Rome Total War 1.5 and it will be based on the Rohirrim and their enemies. The first campaign release will focus on the long winter, other campaigns on the same map will be considered.

Q: Do you guys have a forum?
A: Yes, go to http://www.chamber-of-records.com/fo...play.php?f=191

Q: Are you guys working together with the other LOTR mods?
A: We are not really working together with other LOTR mods, but we do have permission to use stuff from both FATW and METW.

Q: Do I need to pay for this mod?
A: No! This mod is free of course.

Q: Will there be a campaign map included?
A: Yes, the campaign map will cover the lands of Rohan and will have 50 regions, the campaign map won’t be in the first release however.

Q: Are there historical battles?
A: Yes, we are planning on doing several historical battles, it’s doubtful that they are in the first release however.

Q: How many factions are there in the game?
A: There will be 3 factions included in the mod, those are: Rohan/Gauls, Forces of Evil/Britons (which are various Easterling races, Goblins, Orcs, Uruks, Wolves and Dunlendings) and Rebels/Slave (unplayble).

Q: How many units per faction are there going to be?
A: We aim at a total of approximately 10 till 15 units for each faction for the first release. There will also be some mercenary units and other units may be added in later versions. For the Rebel faction there will be 2 units.

Q: Will there be custom music and sound effects for this mod?
A: Yes, there will be custom music and we are also going to implent various sound effects.

Q: Will you change the buildings and cities?
A: We will try to make cities, buildings and fortresses like Helms Deep, Edoras and Isengard. But modding cities is one of the hardest parts of modding and it’s not at the top of our priority list, so it will most certainly not be in the first release.

Q: What will be included in the first release?
A: Custom Battles with new units and maybe some art, music and sounds.

Q: Will there be famous characters from the Lord of the Rings universe in this mod?
A: Yes, there will be various famous kings of Rohan in this mod and also some famous Dunlendings, but there won't be hero's seen from the trilogy.

Q: Wat kind of look will the units have?
A: We will in the first place follow the book in how units should look like, but we will also make them look a bit like the movies, unless the book says totally different.

Q: What about Ents and other creatures?
A: They won't be included in the first version of this mod, maybe later if it's even possible to make such creatures.

Q: Who are in the team?
A: Leuton (currently away) is the founder, our modeller, skinner, coder and the team leader. Karlost is our other modeller, skinner and coder, Elphir (Gror) is the lore researcher, mapper, coder, writer and temporary team leader, ALZU is the movie-maker, skinner and coder, KingTheoden1 makes Art and does coding while Osbada is makes music.

Q: When will this mod be released?
A: Honestly, we don't know. We will try to keep the mod as simple as possible with only two playable factions and limited settlements, so that we could give you guys a release as soon as possible. That will still mean however that it's a lot of work, so don't expect a release anytime soon. The first preview will be pretty soon however.

Q: How can I help?
A: You could join our team as modder, but we also need people who can write, do lore research, are good with video's, music or art and in the future we will need beta-testers.

Q: When this mod is released, could I use parts of it for my own mod?
A: To do that you should ask permission, the team will then decide if we will grant you permission.

Q: Will this mod be translated?
A: The team has no plans of translating this mod, fans are free to release translated versions however, with permission of course.

Q: Will this be a "total conversion?"
A: We will certainly try to convert as much as possible, but some things in Rome are already very similar, so some things will stay vanilla.

Q: Are scripts going to be used?
A: We may include some scripts.

Q: What's the current progress of this mod?
A: We have made the most progress at the moment with the map, writings, lore research, art and units.

Q: Will this mod be ported?
A: Not with the size of the current team, if our team grows however, we will consider a port to Kingdoms or Empire (if that proves to be a moddable game).

Q: Will this mod be modfoldered?
A: Yes, it will.
