Tomisama - into real life we can cope with terrorist:
1. bomb them
2. bomb again
3. bomb remainings
4. send to guantanamo

With cheaters we could have some problems with liberals :)

Tomi,

Did you relaized that you banned a clan just for a screen shoot? Do you call it "full speed ahead!" :inquisitive: bad bad, very bad imho. In this situation many other problems will come. Best of luck.

Sebra,

yes, when CA will fix these problems, I will be happy to join. Lets hope CA will fix MP, at least the desync controls, the possibility to have a log, and no probs with replays.

No one has been banned...

:inquisitive: I assume you are saying that you never accused in CWC forum a clan to have a "dishonourable conduct" cause you watched a screen shoot?

And I assume that you are saying that you never wrote that on your forum:

So the entire Clan of "clan name" will be removed from this competition, and banned from further participation in any Empire Total War Clan Wars events.

:inquisitive:

I am sorry, I do not call it "full speed ahead". Just my opinion.

Do not joke with me Tomi, please, thank you.

Initially I was very, very angry that this childishness was about to ruin a competition for hundreds of players (40 Teams x 6 players minimum each = 240).

There is no real doubt in my mind that this was a prime example of a modified game cheat.

It just can not be conclusively proved beyond a shadow of a doubt for all concerned, because there is no replay.

So we must give the benefit of that doubt to that player.

That is the way true justice works.

Why are you attacking me?

I am not perfect, but am doing my best…

Edit: btw the "Full Speed Ahead" clearly came after the reversal of the ban, and not before

And we must give this benefit untill CA will not give us the opportunity to have no doubts at all. This is what I think and this is what I mean. You can have any proofs if a player cheated or not also if you have the replay. A good cheater sadly knows how to cheat, and you will never be sure if he really cheated or not imho.

I am not attacking you, I just reported an example why ETW is not ready at the moment for any kind of competition (Clan Wars, CWC, CWB...) I am sorry if I offended you in any way.

Tomi,

Had to reply to your following comment in CWC forum

This brings up another point that I think you all should consider in your negotiations, and that is a 4 max on any unit.

An army of Light Infantry would not be a thing I would want to face.

Melee them!

Problem solved

ps I saw that light infantry bug before. You could use it as a exploit, but its really a bug...

Paolai - that guy cheated.
Niesmiertelnik is player you could believe on word.
If he says that somone cheated - he is right.

Sulla - I'm not sure about this limit. Light infantry shots perfectly but catched meele is useless.
Instead of banning light infantry we should rather learn light cavarly tactic again.

A range of over 300 meters would be a cheat.

I personally spent hours testing all of the options, watched all of the replays and the video presented, and found nothing to support the extreme distance seen in the screenshot.

If it were a bug, it would have to have program consistency and show up somewhere else, it never did!

Sulla described bug - I saw it today but it would work with special conditions:
1. enemy unit has to enter range and left it (considering range on that screen line infantry would have to ran at least 350 metres (300 metres x 2 - at leats 125 x 2 = 350 metres).
2. your units starts firing
3. enemy leave range

However despite bug mentioned - 2 or 3 shots of 1 light infantry unit would not kill 50% of heavy infantry unit

Something else disturbing…true range :skull:

This rifle was an accurate weapon for its day with reported kills being taken from 100 to 300 yards away. During the Peninsula War, Rifleman Thomas Plunkett of the 1st Battalion, 95th Rifles shot the French General Auguste-Marie-François Colbert at a range that may have been even greater. He then shot a second French officer who rode to the general's aid, proving that this was not just a lucky shot. By comparison, a standard issue Brown Bess musket was unlikely to hit a man-sized target at ranges beyond 80 yards.

True range is unimportant in Total War or artillery would fire across the whole map :beam:

Very true, a scaled down war

The game range of 125 meter spec is plenty far enough in my book.

I wished very much that the players or the Clan leadership would have responded, saying that it was a bug, that they had not modified their game.

But there was nothing but silence; even now we have heard no one denying the alleged charges.

It may be a language thing?

But it is very unusual for some one not to come to their own defense.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

It could be a language thing but they entered the CWC, so that shouldnt be a big issue then?

can't crucify the unconvicted though.... especially if they are not talking....

Ok, I just played a naval battle, and while running roughly parallel, being upwind, using the same ammo and having identical ships (second rate, early), my ally's and my ammo were way short of our enemy, but they were sending shots completely through us. They said it was "naval tactics." After about 4 volleys like this, I quit. Is there a trick or bug here that I don't know about? Or was it old fashioned cheating? I don't play that much naval so I honestly don't know.

A 2nd Rate’s range is 500 and accuracy is 60.

Upgrades probably influence the accuracy a few points, but not the range I would think.

Just tested firing in strong wind assist, and saw nothing. But my testing was very limited.

The only way to prove alteration would be with replay where you can stop the motion and make measurements.

Hopefully this will all go away with the next fix

Thx for the info. It was a 2 ship max so we had max upgrades on ours. Our shots were well short and their shots were going through our sails and beyond. Don't know how many meter it was. And according to my ally, they were cursing ME when I left.

Tomisama

It sounds pretty conclusive that you had some cheaters there.

But it comes to mind that there is possibility that what you were seeing was the difference between round shot and chain shot.

Round shot is fired at the ships hull level, and the chain shot, at the sails.

The range should be the same, but the trajectory arc might give the chain a distance advantage.

We will have to test that, but in any case the chain shot has more immediately visible results at a distance, and that is for sure.

1. What ammo you got Mongolclint?
2. on land +1 valour means +2 accuracy and + 2 reloading speed
