Shogun 2 Concept Art Descriptions

------------------------------------------------------------
Fiery_Castle.jpg - An early concept of a castle on fire. Sieging castles in Shogun 2 is a brand new experience. Multiple types of castle with multiple levels of walling mean you must break every ring and assail every redoubt. AI defense and attack mechanics have been reworked to be much more competent in offering resistance. Higher level palace structures will differ depending on where they are built and how heavily defended.
------------------------------------------------------------
Crushing_Defeat.jpg - - When the player suffers an utter military annihilation at the hands of an enemy army this message is shown. The complete ruin of an army under their blundering misadventures is immortalised in this rather tragic piece of art.
------------------------------------------------------------
Charge.jpg - - When the player musters enough strength to take their army into the enemy they are presented with this message. Finally their forces will be put to the test against a brutal and engaging opponent!
------------------------------------------------------------
Naval_Fleet_Destroyed.jpg - - When the players naval forces face another and loose this is displayed. Japanese naval battles are intense, coastal affairs. These are fought not between cannon wielding sea faring vessels but with floating wooden castles that are bound together and fought over.
------------------------------------------------------------
Naval_Battle.jpg - - As above the naval battles in Shogun 2 will offer some brand new tactics, especially when fighting around the Japanese coastline. Using the land against your enemy and driving them into terrible positions around rocks can scupper their fleet before battle is even begun.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Under_Siege.jpg - - When the player is under siege this picture is displayed. Here the ‘five stages’ of castle defence come in useful. If a player has developed a castle into a powerful fort then any attacker will have to assail multiple walls and redoubts before gaining access to an inner circle, in some cases these forts are built into the mountains of Japan themselves, making them strong as the earth.

All artwork is created from scratch by The Creative Assembly.

Glad to see they're bringing back the oldschool art style.

The concept art is absolutely breathtaking, I hope we see them in game as well (loading screens). As for that fiery castle, I actually thought it was a screenshot at first and was floored (wishful thinking :sweatdrop:). That pic is so nice that if the IGN watermark weren't there I'd make it my wallpaper.
