I cannot believe that this is happening. I remember almost 11-12 years ago when i first saw an article about Shogun Total War and I said, "That is what a PC is for!!!". I'm am so joyed that CA decided to revisit Japan and do this game. I pray that it is as challanging as the original game (in my opinion, it was the most challenging in the whole series) while taking advantage of the great graphic technology they developed for NTW. I have to go now and wash my face or my wife will think I went nuts. I should visit more often, I completely missed the news!!!

Wow. That's what I thought. And when I heard they'd really try to make it like Shogun but better, I got excited. Might even buy a new pc for it next year!

So many oldies coming back!

I am absolutely certain that this is CA's intent in doing a remake of STW.......

NEXT GENERATION November 1998

The game was first scheduled to come out in the second quarter of 99 (as on note to myself).

But we still had a little wait ...

Welcome back Dave

Edit: Another page you might remember

Yup, you know looking at that release page I could almost here the Shogun background music.

No wait, I can hear the the Shogun music. Check it out!

Mixed with the best clips from the movie Ten To Chi To, is the Shogun sound track.

Yes, my wife too put up with my frustrations. and then after release became a Shogun-widow (they called themselves) as we persued trying to master "the game".

It was an incredible time :beam:

How about this for totalwar old skool. Does anyone remember these pre-demo passive scenarios that we use to run through here in the long days while we were waiting for the demo to be released? We'd draw up the .bmp files on MSPaint and then post them in the old dojo and critique each other's tactics on solutions for the scenarios. Pretty hilarious, we had no idea what the game was going to be like so we actually thought that these scenarios might be of value in developing gameplay tactics.

This is holy stuff. Somebody keep this for the future generations, so they can see the TRUE, QUALITY games not the bs they keep putting out these days.
