When I was able to buy Napoleon Total War, I had to run it on medium cause that's what my system permits and I had to bear slow framerates when battles were too grand and scalar...this time...........I better save up for a rig first for me to appreciate those katana swishes and stuff

Does anyone know what the specs for the game are?

I'm running a AMD Phenom 9500 quad core with a NVIDEA GeForce 8600GT and 2 Gig of RAM. One would hope that should suffice. :sweatdrop:

I'd say no. Replace the graphics card, and you should be fine though.

the standard answer is : replace as late as possible. It may not be always true for RAM, but I doubt RAM will be the limit. For the rest, the later you change the better.

I'm in a similar boat. Running a Dell XPS M1530 with a 2.4Ghz Core2Duo, 4GB RAM and an m8600GT. I'm guessing it won't be up to snuff. I'll probably just continue to play RTW and buy Medieval 2 to tide me over and then think about buying Shogun 2 next year. Maybe I should try the demo first. Anyone know if there will be one?

I'd imagine there will be some sort of demo availiable, a week or two before release, via Steam.

Sure am glad I upgraded my graphics card a few months ago. I should be able to run it ok. The rumor is that if you could run Empire or Napoleon you can run Shogun.

I've tried at Game Debate

http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?p_make=Intel&p_deriv=Core+2+Duo+E8500+3.16GHz&gc_make=ATI&gc_deriv=Radeon+HD+4890&
g_id=1091&game=Shogun+2%3A+Total+War&ram=4&checkSubmit=#system%20requirements

for a system check and it seems these ones could not match the recommended specs:

Intel core duo E8500 3.16 Ghz
ATI Radeon 4890
4Gb RAM

the lack is in the processor speed, Shogun 2 will require at last 3.5 Ghz to run properly
