Hello. I am Agammemnon. I have always wanted to make a series of mods that accurately re-createthe ancient world on the RTW game engine. The first one, Ancient World: Total War, is in the planning stage. The campaign will take place from the time of the Israelite invasion of Canaan to the time of the rise of Babylon. The mod team will be led by Cannibalking and I (jointly, because each of us had an idea for half a mod and we put them together), and anyone who wishes to join is advised to create an account and then PM Agammemnon on the Total War Center forums. The start date will be 1,100 BC. I hope you have a bible handy, cause a lot of our events, factions and units will come out of Judges and Kings!
TIME PERIOD: 1100-900 BC

Factions & And researcher(s) :

Mycenae:Agammemnon
The Phoenicians:Cannibalking
The Kingdom of Egypt:Cannibalking & some help from EgyptianWarlord
The Assyrian Empire:Scelucid Hopolite
The Babylonian Empire:Michael333
The Hittites:Scelucid Hopolite
The Philistines:Agammemnon & Cannibalking
The Israelites:Agammemnon
The Phrygians(Troy):OPEN
The Dorians: OPEN
Kingdom of Elam: EgyptianWarLord

Possible, non-required factions:

The Celts
Median Empire
India
The Midianites
Greek Colonies
Carthage (Phoenician Colonies)
The unit style for each required faction is below:
Mycenae: heavy spear and sword infantry, along with advanced ships | Faction leader (guy who makes the final word on a faction): Agammemnon
The Phoenicians: Greek Hoplite, along with armored swordsmen, and some Egyptian Light infantry. Light cavalry, no heavy. | Faction Leader: CannibalKing
The Kingdom of Egypt: Sickle Light Infantry, Spear units, Chariots | Faction Leader: Cannibalking
The Assyrian Empire: Heavy and light spear infantry, skilled archers and chariot units. No cavalry. | Faction Leader: Scelucid Hopolite
The Babylonian Empire: like Assyrians, except all units are cheaper, chariots are more powerful, and infantry are cheaper |Faction leader: Michael333
The Hittites: VERY cheap sword infantry, some chariots, and horse archers | Faction Leader: Scelucid Hopolite
The Philistines: Similar to Israelites, Eqyptian-like light infantry, slingers, good archers, little or no cavalry | Faction Leader: Cannibalking & Agammemnon
The Israelites: good desert infantry and missile troops. early campaign should have them recruit swordsmen and slingers, later they should get more powerful swordsmen, spearmen, light javelinmen, archers, and maybe improved slingers | Faction Leader: Agammemnon

We will be using the Spartan: Total War map, if possible, and that map includes pretty much everything east of Greece to India (though it is much more detailed than Alex map). Any and all suggestions are welcome, unit roster ideas will be posted later. To post roster ideas, post the name of the unit, a pic of the unit (or if it's just a concept for a unit, post a google images something so that we get the idea), the unit's type (cavalry, infantry, artillery), the unit's class (heavy, light, spear, missile, etc.), and what you think would be APPROPRIATE stats for it. I want the numbers to be lower, not like SPQR where a 12 attack unit has 36 attack, and the higher number is there just for the sake of a higher number. A lot of the recruitment times will be 0-turn, as most units were militia-type light infantry, and only elite units will take 1 or 2 turns.
Faction Leaders make decisions about their faction, but they must PM their plans to the mod leaders, one of which must approve.
