Yep i am hosting the fake STW server again.

Now dont you people start going mad or anything I wont be here posting, Im just letting the community know.

Any way same deal as before.

The old shamblestotalwar.exe should still work

And i also have it loging in to foyer 1st try.

Set the exe that starts shogun to
windows 95 compatibility.
and disable advanced text servicing for the exe..
"just right click the exe and say properties both options are on the same page in there some where"

Im on xfire as shambles1980

the steps are pretty easy though. find
Internet.cfg in your shogun directory and edit it so it reads

ChatserverIPAddress = shoguntw.no-ip.info
ChatserverPort = 8794
NewsserverIPAddress = theres.no-ip.info
NewsserverPort = 80
ShogunTotalWarWebsite = http://dflw.2ya.com

and find

jnet_init.dat in the shogun folder and edit that to read

shoguntw.no-ip.info
4096

You will also need to right click the shogunw.exe (orwhatever your shogun exe is called)
select properties
click on compatibility
Put a tick in "run this program with compatibilaty mode for:"
then change the little box to "windows 95"
And at the bottom put a little tick in the "turn off advanced text services for this program"
this is under "input settings"

if you have a router you need to forward some ports on UDP and TCP and allow the application through your fire wall(s) "add exeptions"

the ports you need to forward in tcp and udp are
8793 4040 and 18321
remember to restart your router after you have forwarded them (remember to forward them to your pc, not a diferebnt pc on the network)

Just had a asynk error on the fake server, dunno if somw 1 had joined or not. so i reserted it any way.

So people know if the server is on or not i will add a little green light here. If you can see the green light pic then server is running if you cant then its not..

Tested for an internet connection with both STW and STW:WE.
Successfully conected to the foyer on both counts.

Checked a few times to make certain that all worked well.
First time connections each time.

Is this server still around? I haven’t been able to connect, but this is the first time I’ve ever tried to play this game multiplayer, so it’s entirely possible that I’m doing it wrong.

Should be running, but i see the ll green light pic isnt here so may be a forwarding problem all of a sudden.
But its probably just my file share.

Ok io had a look, I was defraging the server pc other day, and when it was not in windows the router decided to use the next available pc to forward too. So i had to change that back from "fat-one" to "ShambleS"

All fixed now, sorry for any problems it may have caused..
In future i will run the fake server on the other pc's as well. so if it happens again, and i dont notice for a while it wont be an issue for users.

A friend and I occasionally talk about getting back into some multiplayer stuff, but I have no game consoles, and he plays few computer games. But every time we talk about it he mentions Shogun, so I finally decided to get a copy of it so we could try it. I’m new to the genre, so I’m probably just going to get my butt handed to me, but I’m still looking forward to it. Thank you for hosting a server, it seems to be the only one!

Hello, i'm having the same problem of not being able to start the game, it just puts up the splash screen and then nothing happens. I have been playing shogun since it got out, and decided to try a little online action ;p
Anyhow, i'm using win 7 64x, i don't have the starforce drivers (as one post sugested the fix), yet i still have the same problem :S

I fixed it, run the 1.02 warlord patch (even tho i had gold), and started the game with shogunw.exe
