Alt attack missing?

Maybe I missed it but is there an alt attack button for ranged units? This is a necessity for me tactic wise as well as a gameplay issue.

IIRC all archers, yagashiru included, carried some sort of backup weapon. And Samuari archers would have carried their swords into battle, no question. And the Samuari would have proficent in swordplay at least, and not insta rout like they do in the demo.

IIRC there is a button to tell missile units to engage in melee. It is in the same place the skirmish button is.
