Well, awards are given away each year within "the hall of fame", as far i know its done each year since 2000 or 2001. People can vote and choose, you can surely find some treads about this. There are more awards, i think there is somewhere an area where its explained, what means what...

Speaking about this, my awards did disappear in a time as i was pretty angry and destructive, as some would say :D haha


edit: on top of the page - click on "board" than scroll down there is "award".

umm, im not too sure about it, but it surely was some, HF awards, the 500 and 1000 games :D hehe, which was a lot at those times, th GZ? Was it maybe mars.
Im not sure about rest and it doesnt matter anyway...

The forumsoftware changed a few times and the awards for everyone had to be set again for everyone. That was a manual job and I skipped a few.

wouldnt worry about these awards...is just a popularity contest in the end....your better off just to ignore and have fun with the game...l would rate these right up there with our ranking system

That's not a requirement in all cases really. You may never enter the MP server, yet do something that supports it. If your support is recognised by MP players, they may vote for you for some HOF award. Say you make all kind of tools to make MP a better experience.
