hey guys i have recently change my pc and i tried to install shogun 2 on it from my dvd but it doesnot let me to install it instead it redirects me to steam which immidietly starts to download from the internet now i have tried all the possible work arounds in the internet including the run trick but none of them works my internet connection is pretty slow so it will take me ages to download it plus i wanted to install fall of samurai too but it still does the same annoying thing. does anyone know of a better work around that actually works? i would be gratefull for any help cheers.

I think you're stuck with doing it that way :(

The last 2 times I removed Shogun2 from my computer, I went through the same thing. Install from discs and wait while Steam downloads the entire thing; frustrating!

Savor the sweetness of delayed gratification?

Steam is probably downloading the several patches, which may well come upt 4-5 GB, not installing the game. If you set steam to offline mode you can probably play immediately.

No it was not the updates i tried going offline in steam prior to installation it didnt instal from the disc the installation bar pn the setup window was full in 2 minutes than it has directed me to the steam download, i have already disabled the auto update option from settings anyway it almmost took me a full 24 hours to install but its fine now it might be a bug but there are also people outhere that claim thar it is intentional to prevent piracy though i dont see that helping anyway thanks for the replies guys
