Carthage, 146 BC. This is the story of Fabius Petronius Secundus – Roman legionary and centurion – and his rise to power: from his first battle against the Macedonians, that seals the fate of Alexander the Great's Empire, to total war in North Africa and the Siege of Carthage. Fabius's success brings him admiration and respect, but also attracts greed and jealousy – the closest allies can become the bitterest of enemies. And then there is Julia, of the Caesar family – a dark horse in love with both Fabius and his rival Paullus – who causes a vicious feud.

Ultimately for Fabius, it will come down to one question: how much is he prepared to sacrifice for his vision of Rome?

Inspired by Total War: Rome II, the bestselling game, Destroy Carthage is the first in an epic series of novels. Not only the tale of one man’s fate, but is also a journey to the core of Roman times, through the world of extraordinary military tactics and political intrigue that Rome’s warriors and citizens used to cheat death.

FYI: David Gibbins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Gibbins)

Hmm, I don't think I will pick it up. Based on the reviews, the author is not the best.

In the teaser here (http://www.panmacmillan.com/totalwarbooks) it's said that this is the first novel of a series "based in the thrilling Total War universe". I wonder if they stick with Rome or will explore other civilizations or time periods of other TW games.

This brings something else to my mind. By the looks of it, i think that ca will make a warhammer game in the total war style. Of course it might be something completely different but the safest and in my opinion the best bet is a total war style.game. Anyway the novel hold a very important part in the warhamner universe. They cover a wixe range of cultures and areas. This might be a preaperation in thst style. A series of novels based on the rome would definetly bring in additional income, and it might preapare the consumers to ancipate reading warhanmer novels after a possible.relaese. Just my opinion what do you guys think?

Pulp fiction. And more than likely not the good kind.
