I am sympathetic to your plight, but a non-serious response seemed appropriate.

Or to reference the great American poet, Ogden Nash: I'm terribly sorry for you, but I can't help laughing (http://www.newyorker.com/archive/1936/04/11/1936_04_11_019_TNY_CARDS_000162989).

Also, I'm stuck being productive and working all day, so I'm in a similarly painful boat.

OK, now Verifying Game Cache as that is a good step to avoid launch issues. Won't be long now

(Fingers crossed)

Hey bark, seeing that you are still online can you tell us what happened? Did it install from disc? If so how?

Sure. I reloaded twice using the instructions below the second time and same thing; disc 1 loads (about 10 Gigs) and then I got a message stating the game was ready but that was not the case as I needed another 10 Gig d/l to complete the process - about 3 hours worth of time !! :wall:

Using Steam launch options to install retail games from disc:

Log in to Steam and click on Library.
Right-click on the game, select Delete local content, and confirm.
Insert the first disc into your computer.
Close Steam (Steam > Exit).
Press Windows Key + R to open Run
In the Run window type:

"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E:

Replace E: with the CD/DVD drive you are installing from if is not correct.
Replace C:\Program Files\Steam if your Steam installation is not in the default location.
Press OK. Steam will launch and ask you to sign in if you do not have your password saved. Your installation should continue from the disc.

I would have liked to have known this as I would have gone the d/l route to begin with.

I put in the code on Steam, then I saw Virgin Media being slow-mo, so I paused it, then I put the disk in, then ran setup, then did "re-install" and then it installed all from the disk.
