In 560BC the Medes ruled an empire that stretched from the Halys River in the West to the Hindu Kush in the East. By 550BC that empire was gone, and it was mostly the fault of one man - Cyrus the Great of Persia.
In the Rise of Persia scenario, the Medes control the largest territory of all the factions, and their armies are decidely multi-ethnic due to the wide geographical range it covers. Each troop type, in keeping with the overall recruitment philosophy employed in this mod, has its own particular recruitment zone. The empire is rich, but vulnerable (expect to be attacked on your first turn!)
Median Troop Roster
Due to the recruitment zone system, these troops are not universally available, but can be found in at least one of the Medes' starting provinces, given the right buildings:

The multi-ethnic Median forces approach the fortifications - seen here are (in uniticon order) Tower Shield Spearmen, Eastern Archers, Phrygian Spearmen, Persian Archers, Takabaras and Parthian Infantry (dismounted cavalry only). The Parthians will get a proper uniticon, this is just a placeholder for now.
