Sorry if this is a simple question that I have not picked up in a forum instruction, but can one select the image and rank that is shown by your posting, or are they assigned? Is rank determined by the number of postings?

Okay, I found the answer. I was right, it was a dumb question. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Welshman Located in Stockholm Sweden?

So is your username just that or is it part of your ethnic background?

----EDIT----

Just read your other post about growing up in South Wales.

Was curious as I'm my first name is Welsh and my surname is Swedish http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif.

In reply to Papewaio: yes. I am Welsh; with a name like Jones what else could I be? I moved to Sweden 4 years ago, and have managed thus far to resist the Viking rabble who gather outside my stronghold.

FYI, I have started making a map of Llanstephan castle in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is one of my favourites. I hope to have it ready soon, if I can work out how to have the defenders inside it.

I guess I'd need a Welsh unit too. I think I saw one at Respawn's site.

In reply to Monkian: Lets make a Welsh mod for Total War

We'd lose Swarms of Englishmen coming across the Dyke. Though it would be fun to play a campaign of Edward II in Wales, either as the English or, with the help of editing the files, as the Welsh (I read somewhere here that you can edit the Historical battles to play as the Scots, or the Vikings in the new Stamford Bridge battle).

Right now I am making a map of Llanstephan castle in Carmarthenshire. I grew up near it, and it's one of my favourites.
http://www.castlewales.com/llanstef.html This link has a nice ground plan of the castle too, so that helps in laying it out in the Map Editor.
After that I may try Caerphilly, or one of the northern castles.

A campaign would be good, because the Welsh princes built castles as well as the English.

As for a Welsh mod, I saw the flags for download at Respawn (http://www.respawn.co.uk) I haven't yet tried them, but they would be vital to any Mod.

to get you started here are some Welsh flags and facshields

http://doragon2.web1000.com/Medieval/pages_mods/mods.htm
WARNING - all items on that page are desinged for the demo
but the flags will work if you follow the example below

to use a welsh flag in a historical battle check out the following folder in your copy of medieval

\Medieval\Battle\batinit\Historical Battles\Battle of Bannockburn

the scottish.tga is assigned to the scottish adf file

now go here and grab the medieval modding guide,
http://doragon2.web1000.com/Medieval/indexm.htm
it's for the demo, but to make your own historical battles the principles in the adf and bdf sections still apply,
(( right click on each of the four links across the top of the page, save them (webpage complete) to a folder and the pages will all link when you are offline ))

next i would recommend having a look at King Davids Camelot mod pack
here

Giskards modding guide for campaign's
here
http://www.respawn.co.uk/modules....ecid=10 (http://www.respawn.co.uk/modules.php?name=Sections&sop=listarticles&secid=10)

and finally Wellingtons unit editing guide
here

that should see you well on the way,

Welsman

I've been there http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Caerphilly Castle would be a goodun- even Cardiff castle- though its mostly Victorian and Edwardian now.

Theres Caldicot Castle near me and of course the remains of the 'charming' Newport Castle

Honour guard, present, arms

Lord Barocca and Mithrandir the Wise have given us wise counsel. We would be miserable fools to harken not unto their words.

Thanks guys, I feel a Welsh mod coming on. Now if only we had historical evidence of a victory, that would be great http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
