I know this has probably been asked before but I can't find a recent topic on it.

Hi DoggFood, welcome to theOrg http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Not sure which ladder you mean: the tech tree? We're working on that (so you'll have to use the foldout chart that came with the game for now, 'til we get it digitized).

For the changes to unit types from patch 1.1, we're using this link to the TotalWar.com site:

Heh, no I meant a player or clan ladder that Shogun has for Medieval.

Hello DoggFood. There is no official ladder. The idea with using GameSpy was that we would have the tools to run our own ladders. I've heard very little in that area so I figure not much has been done to provide us with the information needed. Gil or someone else at CA may be able to provide some more information on that.

Do you think they will give you guys the needed info to make a ladder or do you think they need a little shove from the community to get motivated.

I would ask them myself but I don't know where I should start complaining. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Let's inquire first, then request, then debate, then complain. Protocol you know.

well if we can actually make our own, then lets get a .org ladder happening, perhaps someone can look into how we can get the info off gamespy

I don't know about making our own ladder without being able to incorperate the coding into the game. I was on a ladder for another game that used a third party program along with the game itself. It stopped people from cheating and enforced some restictions that came along with a ladder game. But when resolving matches it came down to a honor system. The loser of the game had to enter his password to reslove the match. The problem was people would disagree on who the winner of the match was and since their was no way to prove who won the match it was left to the admin of the ladder to try and work it out.

If someone is thinking of making a ladder on their own it wouldn't be a bad idea to check out the ladder I'm talking about, they had alot of good ideas.

It looks like the ball is rolling in the JF forum. From what FasT posted, CA (Gil) is working on the necessary GameSpy coding. I'm not sure how it all will work but I think we will need some clever programmer types to pull the info off of GS, manipulate it and then post it to the web. I'm sure one of those clever folks will correct me. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif
