Crusade units

What is the point of having province which gives crusade units valor bonus?

And one thing since I'm new here what does sp and mp mean?

its so when you start a crusade, those units get the bonuses

Well, sorry to admit (Please, nobody tell this to Pope…), but sometimes I just create crusades to get these cool knights. I guess white looks very cool http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
