nope. no queens in the game. princesses can spy and marry. in spying they only show you what's there. there is no other effect to their spying. marry them off to other factions to create alliances with the slight, very slight chance that you might gain provinces through this royal marraige if the king of that faction and all his heirs get killed off. when their lands are divided up after their death, there is a very slight chance that, because of your royal marraige, you inherit some of these lands. i've actually never had this happen in a game, yet. you can also use the princesses to marry into your own faction's units, thus increasing loyalty of that one unit.

to see if a unit is married or not, right click on the unit to bring up it info window and look on the left side of the portrait for a somewhat faded or ghosted wedding ring.

One thing to remember when marrying a princess to one of your generals. Never ever marry a princess to general with royal blood, even if he's over 200 years old. That general instantly gains Secret Incest.

Do we know if the characteristics of the person the princess marries become part of the royal gene pool?

(I.e. marry your daughter to a non-royal high piety general; does that high piety marker become part of the calculation for a future heir’s piety level?)

heh... would love to get some queens in this game, might make it more interesting if the ruler has a female bloodline, but then you need a king :-/

I think to get lands of another faction you have to marry their princesses. Marrying yours to them gives them a shot at your lands. I may be wrong in this as ive hardly had many successful marriages once the war machine gets rolling.

I think marry your princess to another faction would entitle that faction to claim your throne, not vice-versa.

As for ladyAn modding it to make a queen: sorry, I am not good ad modding anything and I am sort of advisor than real leader. Whispering into your ears stuffs...

I think it's a good idea, go do it

heh.. i know exactly what you mean, and personally i find it works just as well, the vices are rather trivial, but i think if some were revealed then you might get a huge drop in loyalty
