I read the posting in main hall of the developers replays,
and the commentary on the mistakes made in those games,
plus advice given on what to do to make a better showing next time, http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/idea.gif
I have a request of the members of The Jousting Fields,
Many of you save replays for further analysis, what i ask is you upload those replays here at the Org,
and dissect them in a post here,
point out errors, give advice,
If you lost then what do you think you did wrong?
If you won what could your opponent have done to make more of a challenge...
These types of discussions can only improve the quality of our new players, (or even old shogun hands like me who have a few difficulties adjusting to Medieval)
It is terribly boring to be comprehensively thrashed all the time, as i was when i first came online in 2000,
fortunately Obake, Widda, Yabusama and Amp all spent the time after a battle to explain what i did wrong and what i could have done to recover from the mistake, and what i perhaps should do next time i play...
Make the game more enjoyable for new players and we will see more of them hanging around to play day in and day out...
UPLOAD Recorded Battles here (http://www.totalwar.org/Downloads/Uploaders/MTWrecord.php3)
Please Zipfile them, and include a tezt file with your email and any notes about the battle, perhaps even include the logfile for examination.
Direct Download of Replays (http://www.totalwar.org/Downloads/Mtw_Uploads/MTWrecords/)
The Direct Download link will allow you to download a battle replay moments after it is uploaded, it will also help the poster to determine the file link to add to his thread.
