I have just found a weird "feature" in my game today with kenchinik and mizuyuuki. We were in the middle of arbalesters war, and after a series of volley, one of my arablesters chickened out and ran, then I tried to move my nearby alan merc cav to attack nik's arbalester, but instead of moving, it just stucked and dance. In a few seconds the alan suddenly decided to run away, since it's still in my army zoneand there's nobody attacking it i was like, WTF. Then, I tried to move my other unit, ok succesful, tried to move another unit and just like the alan did, it just stucked and dance. At this point, I seemed to enter an infinite loop in which I got msg in a black text contrary to the regular white color saying: "The unit is not alive(apparently)." I was not able to send a msg to ppl, but I'm still in game just cant move my units around.

This "feature" was confirmed by FearTheBong, he said he had experienced it as well. I have actually had this before during the first days of patch release, this is 2nd. What could this be , a bug , an exploit ? Anyone had same xperience ?

I have never seen anything like that before, but do you have a replay of it? I would to see the units just stucked and dance. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I have gotten a message before saying "the unit is not alive apparently", but i was to busy with other things going on to pay any attention to it.

I also had units get stuck marching on another unit and start dancing, but i just reordered it to move and it was fine.

Was there a rock or a building in the way? These can hamper movement.
Are you sure you weren't fighting Vanya?

This is no joke http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

I wish i had saved the replay, but nik(host) decided to escape and so everyone was dropped and none of us could save the replay. I was trying to save a screenshot too, but I forgot the trick. My current guess is I was about to get dropped by GSD but the game was caught in an infinite loop and I didnt drop.

ive seen units get stuck and dance in open terrain once or twice. It happened right on the edge of the map so it seemed like it had to do with the redzone.

Ive also seen the "unit not alive (apparently" before. If you use groups and a unit is routing off the map but you still have it grouped, and you issue an order and then the last man in the routing unit exts the map you get that message. So this seems like it has something to do with the redzone too.

Did this wierdness happen near the edge of the map? to a unit that may have been in the redzone for a second and gotten stuck there?

GAH

Vanya frequently sees people dancing in the streets and alleyways when He steps forth to collect heads for His necklace, Ramen soup, or some other gesture of good will towards the inhabitants of His global safari. Vanya never thought such celebrations could be attributed to such vile things as software hiccups or "embedded features", but instead insists such manifestations of joy and contentment were a demonstration of the spiritual congruence of their own system of beliefs and those set forth by the Headless Horseman.

"Heads are the ties that bind. Drop it, and it shall set you free."
-- Vanya

"Lunacy is the veil geniuses pull over the eyes of their peers."

The was nothing in the way, it was a steppe map, and the units in question were not near the red zone. I was shooting Bosdur's Alan Merc cav and had reduced it from 40 men to xx men at the point his arb routed. This cav started to advance toward Nikiko on my right after the arb routed, but turned to move away from me and got stuck dancing up against one of it's own units. It had 33 men at that point and I was still targetting it, but I couldn't score anymore hits on it. After it ran away, Bosdur's next arb started dancing. I targetted it, but couldn't score any hits. He couldn't move anything else at that point, but could still message us. The rest of us we able to play normally, and I believe Nikiko attacked Bosdur's army. Nikiko did eventuallty esc the game so we were not able to save a replay.

OK, my army danced again today, this time it's even merrier, 6 byz infantry dancing. A 2v2 game, the dancing occured after I re-close my formation, after I set troops on loose due to cannon-fire.

Look for the dancing 6 byz infantry after they're grouped in this formation:

This time I was able to save the replay, you can download it at the following link, the name of the file is dancing.zip:
