Came online quite excited i must say http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Played my first game v nashwan our young up and coming star, I won the game but the victory felt hollow indeed, I hadent out maneuvered nashwan at all but devastated his army with i dont know luck? I Shouldent have won dident deserve to win especially with my new prob Mouse lag its quite bad even in 2v2s never a problem with shoggy once i got a decent modem, Is there a command to stop the game being recorded? perhaps on the exe file? Ok so nashwan left looking round the foyer i seen amp http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif so i played 3 games i think with amp and lost them all the first one im sure was quite close but dident deserve to be again I was shocked at the skill id lost in my year absence (I was never that good) but my control of units was really poor, decided to play v Wolf_Macajor and Wolf_drb me and amp The game ended up 2 1v1's which myself and amp won, this game i felt i deserved to win, as i felt i performed well forcing my opponent to rush me, Felt abit like the watch every move games of shogun, was nice, Then we decided to play a 4v4 hosted by the critter (always good host) me and amp and 2 other peeps v critter and his critters i was half expecting to drop but thankfully dident Arrg one of our allies says ill cover u all, I thought what does he mean? it soon became apparent i was the right back player he was our centre player all artillery and even worse he deployed in forward positions (cannons) well critter started right beside his flank and routed most of his cannons before i could even get my force down the hill, although i managed to rout some of his cav with mine but now it was 4v3. I know my ally had some artillery left but he promptly quit the game not even putting his artillery on fire at will so they sat doing nothing critter moved back and then tried to get around to our 2 remaining allies amp and some other peep amp and the peep got hit by 3 i faced off the other and routed him, due to my mouse lag i couldent even turn the screen to see what was going on to the leftso i just charged all my peeps in that direction, Nice to see that amp and the other peep (sorry i dont know ur name u played well http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif ) routing cans critters http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif An enjoyable game for 1 reason our ally was pretty outrageous and normally would have cost us the game but we won. All the games after that were pretty dull even meeting my old team mates from way back fearofstrike fearofmizilus and shingenmitch now if we had met up in a shogun foyer this would have been a great bunch of games but drops lockups and cdt almost drove me an miz insane Its pretty early to make a full judgement on the game but its abit dissapointing as magyar said to me "it has no tension" anymore, Id tend to agree,.

Ps: dont talk about paragraphs cause im in lazy mode http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Swoosh,

I had more trouble than usual hosting yesterday. After I reinitialized my modem and rebooted things went better as my ping dropped from 400 to 150 for Donbatti who is in Sweden and has dsl. RTK Paul had me back down at 60 ping which is what he usually sees from me.

On a 4v4, I typically get about 75% of them to launch. After launch, I would peg the chances of at least one player dropping at around 50% for a 30 to 40 minute game. These drops are not evenly distributed among the players. Certain players drop more than others. Dropping down to 3v3 or 2v2 no doubt will raise the number of successfully completed games.

MTW battles can have plenty of tension, but it's not a continuous tension since there is much maneuvering of armies. The battles unfold more slowly than they did in STW, and rushes are less likely to succeed.

I have experienced higher pings than usual these weekends.. maybe its my ISP but the games are still enjoyable with the right companies... though STW still is the best IMO in term of MP experience... really miss those hillup attacks in Yamato.

They were just "nice" games, Mith... we've had a few near-epics too. Should I post a couple of the more interesting ones? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
