PPL know strongest unit and how to use them now..So lets get some games together with same factions?

Lets do a org tourney.....

Each month different faction.....ie first months English etc...
Would the Org host it?
Lets see how many would like it?

Each Faction should take us to christmas i guess.....
3 points win.....
Ok just like a football league.....
Rules can be made if enuf want to take part?
Can be split into 2 leagues for time differences.....

Who is interested? Winner or Winners a Org icon http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

Am I allowed to use a weaker faction? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

I throw in this idea, perhaps for another tournement:

A 4x4 with mandatory army factions. Each side takes the same 4 factions. The factions are predetermined by tourney schedule (so no confusion of which army to take). The teams are randomly assigned to slots but made known in advance. (You see, in a 4x4, byz vs. byz is a bit monotonous).

I do like your tourney idea, FaST. But my dislike of 1x1 would prevent me to play it.

Everyone is going to say "I'm in", but nobody is going to do the work to run the darn thing.

If we can get someone to run the tourny, then filling slots should not be a problem...lets find someone to run this puppy. I dont want to run it 'cause I want to win it

I'm sure you can find someone to run the tourney. The problem is keeping people in it. Like most other tournaments, etc people will sign up, maybe play the first round....but eventually the tourney will sit collecting dust. I would rather they didnt, but...

held a tourney for non clan players or the ones not playing for a belt, most have a busy schedule

the problems with a tourney is the scheduling.

however it is worked, it has to be a freeform sort of thing...probably point based up until the deciding fights. i have some leauge expirence, and would offer it(not TW). Shades effort with TWA is commendable but unexecuted(from my non-clan affiliated point-of -view, working on that&#33http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

got more speceifies(sp) Fast? whats your plan? post it or send it to flexorill@yahoo.com

as far as you stated, here is my opinion:
only one "leauge"? propose a bidding setup and points allocated per faction used, per player/clan win. over a certain period, points are summed up and champ matches are set-up. hmm, thats a little funny to work out unless either all clan based or all ronin based. i dig funniness tho, i am a fledgling programmer.
one faction at a time?...too rigid. bid faction.

namely my search for a clan affiliation has been leauge related. i am willing to do what i can to see it happen.

a league sounds really good, run it like a football league , all names are put forward and fixtures posted then all matches r played over a weekend period, thus givin all a chance to play , run it from its own web site , with a constantly updated league . I will help with running it and even get a site up and running , lets get some heads together and get it sorted http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

A round-robin tournement where people doesn't require to play one round, wait for everyone else to complete and play another round (elimination style) could be the solution.

In round-robin, everyone will play everyone else, so it is also fair (no first round elimination). Also, you can play as many matches as you could if you find the people. For example, I could be online on Saturday around noon and meet many people in europe, and play as many games as I could. If next week am busy, I can skip a week, etc. There are rules to limit the duration of the tournment (like you have to play on average 2 matches per week or something like that).

There are three problems:

1. Number of games. For example a 10 people tournment would have 20 games (each match is 2 games). Many more people means many more games. In elimination, you only play 4 games in the above example. But I don't think this a problem.

2. Drop out. Some people will drop out and not finish their number of games. Solution to dropout is to replay all matches of the dropout person with the replacement.

3. If we want to play all 10 armies, a question of fairness could implies. However, we could make up for this by alocate each slot in advance. Each will have to play the other using the predetermined army. The slot are given by lotto. Playing 20 matches per seat is a bit too much (example above would give 200 games to be played).
