I would be interested in conducting a tournament, but I would also like to participate http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

All I need for a tournament is a Moderator position and a seperate tournament section at the .ORG forums.

The tournament would proceed as follows; Several Forum threads to keep all things organized:

Introduction & Rules
Sign-Up
Pairings
Results
Deadline Sign-In
Questions
Tourney Stories

The sign-up thread to enlist for the tournament will include a poll voting on the choice of map to be played throughout the tournament. Every different map category will be represented;

Flatinland
Steppeinland
Hillyinland
Coastalflatinland
Coastalhillyinland
etc.

Every round will have a deadline time of 2000 GMT. If there is no result for a match, then those who have not completed a match by the deadline must sign-in. Those who sign in too late or not at all will take a loss for that round. The deadline system is there to eliminate any stalling aka the two tournaments at the TotalWarAssembly.

All games will be 2 out of 3 played out on the same map throughout the tournament. 32 Players are the limit and by estimations of a single elimination tournament should last around 20 days with 5 to 6 rounds. All other rules will be cleared up later.

Thats my proposal, feel free to plagirize its not mine anyway. Its all up to the .ORG

Look like an intensive era of tourney...this is good http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
But i think will be better if you coordinate this tourney after the other we play on the 22 february and more.
There are many team's competitions, but another one for single will be nice, good luck to arrange it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

It's really not all that complicated, I expect little difficulty running it as it has been proven in past experiences.

If I need any help I'll make sure to contact you. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Well, seems like the TWA is dead now. I guess Honestus was just too involved and burned himself out when he tried to liven up the community.

Yep, deadlines should be fairly strict and they should be enforced. I believe both in this and Koc's tournament there will be a lot of players winning by default when the opponent doesn't show up, but it's life.

I'll see if I have time to help in future projects. Who knows, I may even start my own as I have to create a website and do some coding in a course in the university... might as well be a MTW tourney. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Alright, I got done sooner than expected http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif All in a day's work. I posted a couple threads here with the link to sign-up. I wasnt gonna wait for the .ORG to wake up and smell the roses, so I created my own. You can see it under the 'Enlist for the Winter 2003 Arts of War' thread. Its limited to 32 people, I advise everybody to register while there are still spots left.
