Well Dark Prince, we've had one or two Junior Patrons that been promoted after having made only one post. It is not based on number of posts but on behaviour.

It is also a matter of timing. We only do promotions once a day at the most. Sometimes it is two days if Kukri or I are busy. For example, Kukri has been scarce this week because he is working a double shift. Life happens.

In your case, we had already settled on the promotion list for today (Dec 17) when I started reading your posts. I could have added you to the list, but we have an mutual policy that we don't promote unless both of us agree. I knew Kukri was already at work and I wouldn't get a confirmation from him for another 12+ hours. Therefore I decided not to hold up the other promotions nor over step Kukri authority and judgement. So you see, it is nothing personal against you, it's just circumstances.

... ive been away for awhile... havent been posting... but i just added a message in the jousting field and noticed that im still a junior member with count rank.... not that its all that important... but maybe u could change this to at least clan leader... although i have been denied a custom icon that i created a while back....now that there is a new message board u might reconcider it...

we also have a clan icon that some members would like to use...i was told this might be possible as well when the forum moved and i would rather see all of us have the same icon then only me.....

a star would be nice too.... i had around 400 victories with my 2 names (ncbeach and fearofnc) before they stoped keeping tract... if you are no longer assigning them it might be best do do away with them...or possibly give them based on a poll of senior patrons to those who are concidered online battlefield veterns.... if i remember correctly they were created to help other readers... so that someone could undersand the difference in advise for online battles from magyar to mr. i just got the game yesterday and i already know it all....thanks for your help...nc

If you are having a problem, post it here. If you scan the topics in the Entrance Hall forum, you will find it has a hodge-podge of topics. Many of the techies visit this forum and provide suggests for those with problems. If we don't get a resolution here, Kukri or I will post your problem in the appropriate forum. Usually by then you'll be promoted and can interact with those responding to your problem.

i think a little bit of the confusion is caused by the fact that there are 2 junior titles and 2 senior titles and if you were a returning vet, you wouldn't instinctively know whether a patron outranked a member. so you might think a senior patron outranks a junior member.

another thing is that it is in the nature of vets to grumble. and the thought of them being 'junior' to anybody is cause for grumbling especially when they can hark back to the 'good ole days' when the org was just a string connecting 2 cans for communication, before all this INTER NET, CABLE MODEM, mumbo jumbo.

so maybe a reworking of the titles would be better where you could have a heirarchy without subordination [a contradiction i know]

well yeah. dont wanna sound pushy but ive posted a fair few times now but dont seem to have been promoted so that i can post in the rooms that really interest me. If this could be arranged you would make a veteran of of the stw/mi and now mtw extremely happy.
The reason i have not really used the org forums b4 is that at 7Bear7 we have an extremely active and lively forum/ezboard of our own which other clans frequently post in and so until now have not really used the orgs.
However in my wisdom (lol yeah what wisdom some of u are saying lol)i have decided that i do need to post more frequently on the org, but have found myself currently restricted by the present patrons policy (which im not looking to comment on) and so im asking if it would be possible for me to be given the access that is appropriate and would therefore enable me to post in the main forums, which i used to be able to post in along time ago before the current patrons policy.

Lord Aeon, sorry that you didn't get anyone important - just me. Since you are a Junior Member, you are asking about how to become a Senior Member - Senior Patron would be a demotion for you. Promotions beyond Senior Patron are done based only on recommendations from the Org staff. Post count doesn't matter. Good posts - constructive, informative and/or helpful - are the kinds of things that get you promoted to the next level. Providing services to the Org community is another way: technical support, useful documents, diagrams, programs, mods or stories to help make the game more enjoyable for community members, make them better players, provide more insight into game play, make life easier for the TW gamer. This usually involves giving ones time and talent for the betterment of the community. Promotions beyond Senior Patron and not announced, they are just done. I'm not sure if Tosa emails the person to inform them of the promotion.

Your comment about the files is noted. I'll pass this along to barocca to see if he can do anything about it.

You are on the list and it has been submitted JANOSIK. We all have lives outside these forums (though sometimes it doesn't seem that way). I had very little access to my PC Thursday and Friday. Due to that I was unable to submit your name on Thursday night as would be the norm. Hosakawa said you would be on the next list, which you were - I submitted the list late Friday night. Tosa is usually very fast at activating the promotions. But that has not happened so he must be busy with life stuff. It happens to the best of us.

We try to move the promotions along as fast as we can. Sometimes that fast as we can isn't fast as normal.

I'm sure they trust you, Maniac, but there is something different afoot. Recent difficulties in the Tavern forum have brought sweeping changes. In addition to raising the requirement to post in the Tavern to Junior Member, the moderators have promoted all current Senior Patrons to Junior Members. It was thought that fairness demanded that all Senior Patrons who hither-to-fore had been able to post in the Tavern should not suffer for the mistakes a few. The end result is that people like me and you end up being promoted after having been registered only this month. I imagine the Tavern will become a lively place soon as the moderators spend time weeding out all those Senior Patrons who were promoted to Junior member too quickly.

That would be a judgement call. I'd rather not see every topic you start in both forums. If you are just sharing information, post in the appropriate forum - remember, Junior Patrons (JPs) can read those posts too. If you are starting a discussion on something in the Main Hall (for example) and you think JPs will want to discuss it too, then post it is both places. A good example of a double post in the Main Hall and here was when one of the first previews of RTW came out. It was posted in both forums and generated lots of discussion in both.

Lastly, if you aren't sure if it is appropriate to double post, just email Kukri or I and ask. You could also contact one of the moderators in the other forum that would get the topic. Just click on our names in the main forums page to get to our profiles and then click on the send email to Gregoshi.

t1mmie, there is no time frame or post count for promotion. What we want to see are some posts (more than a sentence or two) from each new patron. We want to make sure that you seem the type to play well with others. As of yesterday, IIRC, you only had 2 posts. I see you are up to 6 posts now, so I've got to go read your new ones now.

As for Philly, I'm from central PA and moved to the far western suburbs, so I'm not that familiar the downtown area. I hate traffic so I don't venture too close to the city when I can help it. Bonner does not ring a bell.

It means you now have a set of keys to the other forums and can post there - the Tavern being the exception. Look for an unannounced promotion to Junior Member in about a week or so. Once that happens you have the key to the Tavern as well.

You need 500 posts to be able to pick your own avatar (picture) from a selection of 300+.
