Lovely pic of course, but the iron mail is anachronistic - make it linen or a bronze "bell" cuirass, and the hoplon seems to be far too big, even given the effects of the foreshortened view point http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

There are several textures in the pack that are a silvery metallic....will have to look at the bronze. Sizing of shield was standard.....tho that can be adjusted .....just starting to work with the `ancient` warriors, thx for the input.

Great pic Dimeolas. Hakonarson is correct , the hoplon was smaller( but the choice of lamda on the shield is very accurate) and no mail shirt was used.
By the way why dont you use the original phrase? 'ee tan ee epee tas' or in greek letters 'η ταν η επι τας' ( i dunno if the greek letters will be displayed properly though ) :/

Thx Rasoforos, was looking for that Yes.....picked up a nice book at B&N...the hoplon in height was from top of shoulders to bottom of beltskirt.....will resize. Don`t know why Mr Malis used a metallic texture on the armor, will have to change to brass.
Thx guys,

A brass colour for that armour won't really be appropriaet eitehr - the armour itself is wrong.

Here's some picures on the web that might help:

linen armour (http://www.u46.k12.il.us/ehs/gifted/hp1.htm)

A guy who has made his own (http://www.larp.com/hoplite/photos.html) although he doesn't have armour

Another guy who's made his own (http://www.staff.ncl.ac.uk/nikolas.lloyd/armour/hoplite/hoplite.html), including a linen cuirasse - great pics here.

Hope this helps.

Cool, thx for the links. Am working my way through Warry`s Warfare in the Classical World. Looking at various cuirasses.....and loading software on the new Dell. Will have to take a much closer look at that armor.
Thx,
Dimeolas

This one looks very cool and makes the other look a bit plain by comparison. Keep up the good work Dimeolas and good luck with your future clan m8.
