I wasn't aware htat the Parthians were in there in the first place. it'll be a shame if the elephants are left out though

The only reason I'd buy (And thus upgrade system) RTW would be the elephaunts...

well if its true it fits the strategy of tehir marketing.

hype with elephants
skip them in first release
add them in add-on or hype again with them and let them out again

older people recognize the pattern

but i think elephants will be in it.

Maybe the Parthians are like Mongols and Vikings. A future add-on.

Elephants would be missed. They belong at least some of the time.

Yea good post - real factual ya know. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Unless you can come up w/ the name of the magazine, the name of the article and the date of publication spare this board your rumor mongering.

Oh, BTW a quote would help too.

For the record - AFAIK, NO ONE from CA has stated that elephants will not be in - they ARE integral to the Punic Wars after all. And how can the Parthians be scratched when CA hasn't officially announced what factions will be in there.

Barkhorn.

Baghdad Bob: There are no elephants in RTW, nor has there ever been. In fact, I state with certainty there are no elephants within 500 km of Rome. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

sorry for not calrifying, its in the April Issue of the british PC gamer magazine(not american)in the Warrior Kings:Battles review article below one of the pics of the elephants in the game it quoted "We won't see any elephants in RTW but its a good thing they are in here" if i remember correctly.and about the parthians its probably a rumor, but if they were scratched i'm going to be pissed.

EDIT:Dumb me,i went to the RTW page and saw a pic of the elephants they are probably in http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

Baghdad Bob: Those elephants who are supposedly in RTW are in fact nowhere near the code, let alone any of the CA offices. Those elephants who are in RTW are in fact pigs, every one, and slaughtered as such

I refuse to believe that there are no elephants in RTW. Faisal, either you misread that article and misrepresented the writer's obviously humorous intentions or that writer is an idiot, which in this age of lowered journalistic standards is entirely possible... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Faisal, next you'll be telling us you don't want Syrian Archers

That sounds like a line they picked up from the makers of the Warrior Kings game to hype their game. I wouldn't say the sky is falling based on a comment like that.

Computer Gaming World's first paragraph long mention of RTW read like they got their information from a scrawling on the Men's Room wall. And their wording made it sound like they were skeptical about that information. It seemed like they put no effort at all into the piece.

Unless the magazine is basing its information on sources in CA or from hands-on experience with a development build of the game, I wouldn't even give it a moment's attention.

any1 else read that "warrior kings" attack by a mag either zone or gamer cant remeber.

a warrior kings advert qouted the mag as saying

"the most impressive AI ever"

but the mag qouted what they realy said

"the team working on warrior kings has said it has the most impressive AI ever"

im thinking they should have that on the front cover of their next edition.

burn in hell warrior kings the most bugged piece of crap i ever played,

well i say played i mean tolerated
well by tolerated i mean i gouged my eyes out and pickled them in a fit of "ERROR" rage http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

I think that's unfair. That was a typo, and they corrected themselves next issue. Honest mistake.

Never trust magazine quotes that go 'The game was...Sublime'. It probably really said 'The game was so bad, it's sublime'.

but if there are no elephants I'm going to be really dissapointed. But didn't we see screenshots of elephants and hear stories of how flaming pigs were their biggest enemy?

If they are in, I'm quite curious how their dead bodies will appear on the battlefield ... Like a bloody splash as always? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

speaking of corpses,i wonder how that will be handled.I really want to see the corpses remain on the battlefield(to see the glory of the aftermath of some battle http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif)and spill some blood, though this could be an option to turn off(or some people will complain).
