OK, so they praised it ... It's been disscused at .com very much, and the date seems to go now to some uncertain 1 July 2004 ... Is that true?

Where are the pila? Have we seen a pilum in any screen shots yet? The boys from Rome should get two throws. I want to see it happening.

Can somebody please reassure me about pila?

The pilum is in, a CA guy at the .com sad that when the forumers out there started a discussion about it. And think about it CA wouldn't make such a big mistake by not adding pila to the game.

I was hoping for 3Q/4Q 2003 to. lets just hope CA will finish the game ASAP (after all the flaws are gone offcourse).

"A group of these elephants were sent charging through the tall grass around a city the Romans were in the middle of assaulting. As the elephants closed in on a couple formations of Legionnaires, they automatically dropped into a ready position to prepare for the onslaught. Little was I prepared for the carnage that followed. The elephants moved through the formation like water. Legionnaires went flying thirty feet in the air as the elephants jerked their heads goring even more and trampling the rest under foot. In a matter of seconds and entire company had been decimated with the rest of the usually staunch soldiers running like hell away from them."

I think the elephants would be so expensive that the opponent would have so much money that the elephants would get stuck with so many spears and arrows and wounds through the process that they would not be able to trample all the troops plus there are always woods to go into if u had all elephants and I'm sure the benefits the enemy would recieve there would get your elephants slaughtered.

1 key thing I just thought about, didn't romans quickly learn that elephant's had soft feet and put spikes to the ground if time prevailed. Now just imagine some cheesy guy or gal goes in there with all elephants goes in and the romans have a few spiking units. They could put them in there at a cheap cost. I wonder who would be laughing after that battle
