Will you be the Romans and replay its former greatness. Mimic every moves the great Senate and Emperors did. Play it historically or do anything you want? Or will you be as the Greeks and unite the states against Rome and Carthage?
Or will you play as Carthage and bring Rome to its knees making Carthage the power of the meditarrarean?

The options are countless *Drools*

Hmmm, there are two things that is seeming to be very attractive at the moment.First one is challenging the rules of gravity with war elephants http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

the second one, as you can guess, I will roast some bacon http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I will surely play with rome first, because im such a bleak fan of the movie gladiator, and also Im curious about the Senate. One other thing is that the strenght of legions just hits me, they are awesome.

As for how I will play, I think I will first try to threaten the outer enemies like greece carthage whatever. I will take rome (if I already dont own it), and then I think I'll expand outwards or maybe unite the Roman empire and become emperor. I dont really know what to do before seeing the map I start on http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Control the glorious Greek hoplites and phalangites, unite the Greek world once more and bring the fruits of the glorious Greek civilization to the barbarians*. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

*or anihilate them trying to bear them the fruits of the glorious Greek culture http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Imperially, sending the consuls scurrying for cover and regarding the Senate with the contempt they deserve http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

definitely Roman to start with, from the reports we've had so far looks like paying lip service to the Senate (completing their missions)while awaiting the right time to make a grab for total power - no triumvate here, no sirree

Definately the romans first. I will not try to imitate history though.

Instead of expanding the republic I might decide to clean up the roman house first. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

One quick civil war to get my fellow rivals out of the way.

I tend to be a slow and steady strategic player. I might try and keep the romans to Italy and watch the AI factions battle it out.

Then, of course, I will have to try the carthaginians. Man you just gotta love those elephants.

I might start with Rome, just till I understand the game. But everyone will be the Romans, so I don't wanna be them. I like the Greeks, and I plan to play as the Spartans and take the Balkan peninsula within the first 25 years. After that, who knows.

BTW, very important matter, diplomacy. I think its very important and they say it will be like Civ 3's diplomacy menu. I hope they can pull it off since it sucked that you couldnt move through allied territory, and you couldnt take anything from the enemy when you proposed a ceasefire at his worst position. Diplomacy is a necessary evil http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
