Hi

How about we do a quick 2-3 battles. Vaguely historical based. I'l set up the armies before hand. We could play a HRE campaign or Crusader Campaign, even Turks vs Hungarians, Turks vs Egyptians, Swiss vs HRE or whatever you want. (another poll on that later)

The armies will be pre-set and you will know exactly what you have to take. You will have specific deployment and tactics guidelines.

This will be in Multiplayer.
All those interested say YEAH and leave your name

Not interested, no matter, maybe next time.
Need more info, drop us aline and we'll get back to youuuu.

I have not founded YEAH So I voted, sure thing count me in

I may have my own idea about one scenario...

There have been games around themes before. It would be more interesting if people playing take the times to post screenshots about it and speak about their experience; playing is nice; but telling the story might help to promote the MP cause

Interested but, since I haven't experienced the delights of MP, I'll have to give it a miss.

One of those three would be me. I don't have that many reference material. But I do have an Osprey book on the Wars of the Roses with quite a few battle maps in it. This would require some modding since the current English units do not reflect the armies well.

But which battles where you planning? I would be willing to do some modding and graphical editing to get the battles more accurate. Such as changing flags and colours.

Note that my modding takes alot of time from playing online so I'm not that good at it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif But if you guys are in for the fun then you can count me in.

Cheers, Duke John

Im ready http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

When it comes to mods... well it really depends on what we are going to play. Lots of units from MTW works nicely for historical battles. If its going to be pre planned armies anyway good old 2.0 works for most things.

The crusades would provide an interesting historical base.

Gee it sure is lucky I have a Crusader era in MPwars ;-)

If there is one battle to be fought its the Battle of Hattin. We just need someone to make the map.

Sounds good so far. CBR do myou have any weblinks for that battle.

Here's some from the Battle of ..........AIN JALUT

These are from a Polish author, who I never authenticated.:p I never had time to check up on authenticity. Looks fair enough I guess.

http://webplaza.pt.lu/shahid/images/posts/ainjalutmap1.jpg

1. Mongol Toumen between 5-7000 men
2. Mamluke cavalry feigns withdrawal with Mongol and Auxilliaries in pursuit.

http://webplaza.pt.lu/shahid/images/posts/ainjalutmap2.jpg

1. Auxilliaries ambushed by Mamluke Royal Guard
2. Mongol intercepted by Mamluk infantry (apparently this is the point where Qutuz went into the battle and rallied his men as they were collapsing under the Mongols)
3. Kitboga (Mongol commander) unit continues to chase ahead.

http://webplaza.pt.lu/shahid/images/posts/ainjalutmap3.jpg
1. + 2. Final attack by returning Mamluke cavalry
3. Kitboga's unit is surrounded and annihilated

Just added a little explanation of the numbers.

Shahed

Tha Ain Jalut is actually a scan converted to English.
I will check this up though, with the 3 or 4 accounts that I have read, make sure it's accurate. Then I will check the terrain, as well.

Anything you have would be welcome.

If you have any comments on the above maps, please post in the Ain Jalut INFO & DISCUSSION thread (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=3;t=10150) in the Monastery. The images above are shown only as an example. I do not vouch for their historical accuracy.
