Well, we all know that there is a curse looming over all royals in the game (VI 2.0). At 56 your king dies, and that's it.

We also know that a group called Creative Assembly based in Wessex is somehow responsible for it. I guess that if we let our Kings know about it they would be rather upset and do something to be sure those Wessex dwellers lift the curse... Something around the line of coming with stacks of heavy cav to give some additional incentive http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Let's do it in a fun and challenging way.

Here is my challenge;
- start a campaign, in whatever setting you want (Expert recommanded)
- with either your first king or your first heir you move from your capital to Wessex, well before your death.
- you need to hold the province AND the castle (the infamous Tower of London, headquarter of CA... who doubts it?)
- your king needs to be in Weesex with the victorious (or so we hope) army.
- if you do it with your first heir, your first king must not conquer any province between the capital and Wessex (counted as a number of provinces), neither build any boat (way too easy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif ).
- report here about your accomplishment.
- the most challenging patch extorsion royal trip to Wessex will earn... My consideration http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif . Expert difficulty is recommanded. To do it with the first king is also a bonus.

That would make for a short and potentially fun campaign And possibly challenging too; is it doable with one King from Byzance in Late? Or Mongol Horde? Or Sicily (a no boat sicily?)? Or Egypt?

Post here about your challenge, and let us know how it goes Write a story about it

I don't get it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

If we're not allowed to conquer provinces or travel by boat, how the hell are we meant to get to Wessex?

Ahhhhhhhh..... Ok, I'll make it clearer.

You must go to Wessex with either your first king or your first heir (up to you... 1st king is tougher http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif )

1/ if you try with your first king; do whatever you want.

2/ if you go to Wessex with your first heir; my rules are slightly trickier;
a) your first king can't build boat and can't conquer land toward Wessex.
b) when your first king dies, due to the curse, your first heir becomes king and then you can start moving toward Wessex, building boat, etc...

I hope it is clearer now.

Additional rule; must be done before the release of the patch http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I just did it with the Germans in Early MedMod with my first King. It was actually a lot of fun.

And it took me all of one year to do it in BKB Super Early with the Welsh http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

HRE...

I'm pretty sure someone can raise the stake and do it with either Italy or Spain...

Come on http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Spain is actually easier than the HRE.

I'm gonna try doing it with the Byzantines or Turks. It'll at least be a long hike.
