If you are an American who speaks the local language, even just a little, you can hook-up with American girls in Europe who don't. They get very threatened because they can't get around in Europe and nobody understands their questions. You can play the knight in shining armour who explains signs to them or asks the locals inane questions.

1)Look at the first article in the first link; a girl describing how romantic European (aaah ah over generalization) guys are. Now look at her pic. For gods sake, I mean.. come onn No surprise why she cant get any action in the states.
It is true that italian guys are more active (meriterraneanness) and thus can provide more romance; Italians in fact adore women in general; being beautiful has less importance to them, so I am not surprised to see that the lady has been drooled just because she has seen some place which is not on the tourist book.
2)As for the second article of the italian carpenter. As far as I see, the guy does nothing special to seduce the ladies. It is the city and the history that seduces the girl and the guy thinks that he's doing something miraculous. And the American girls say awwww italians are soo romantic It is the city that is romantic. I cant imagine any girl that cant melt in Italian culture and they all attribute that to the guys.
3)The swedish guy article. I am not sure whether an Italian and a Swede should be considered European in the same manner, but it is well apparent that there is more action in NY than it is in the Hordaland.
--My personal experience; anywhere in the world has more action than Turkey (even Washington DC). European women come to TUrkey because they want macho guys and Turkish girls dont want Turkish guys because they dont want macho guys. Similarly, Italian girls are fed up with aggressive italian guy behavior and will fall to more Americanised passivism. I'm with you Sigurd... He would go far in Denmark either. He is somewhere between fair and acceptable looking, so I suppose he must be increadibly charming.
Turkish girls... no thank you please.
I have seen enough of them to know the not so beautiful outweight the beautiful by a large standard. Just come on a walk with me through the suburbs of Brøndby and Ishøj south of Copenhagen and you will know what I talk about.
But I will conceede that the beautiful Turkish girls are very much so... To me it seems like there is no middleground, no fair looking girls, only ugly and beautiful.
