And buy it they should. Otherwise they will be missing out on a fantastic game for a STEAL OF A PRICE

Shogun isn't as involved as MTW, but it is every bit as captivating and epic to play. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Oh, do remember to download the 1.02 patch before you come--most players are using it and you won't be able to join their games if you don't have it installed. Some are using the 1.03 community patch, which is said to better balance unit performance (in 1.02, muskets are very powerful).

You can find the patches here at the org and at many other clan and STW-specific websites. My favorite place http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif is at the Home of the Masterless site. Here you won't be queued, and the server is pretty speedy.

If you download the 1.03 patch, the 1.02 patch is included, along with a stat swapper that will allow you to switch back and forth between patch versions. Many thanks to all here at the org who developed and tested these nifty upgrades.

Here are some instructions for how to get up and running for online STW play :

And a Golden Horde of MI veterans, at that Haven't seen so many vets in the foyer at once before.

Not as many new folks yesterday though http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif. Hey all you new folks, come play with the old timers--it's the best way to learn, and most are quite nice (as long as you mind your manners http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif ). They will answer questions and give you advice if you ask them. That's how I've managed to accelerate my learning curve.

For those new to STW/MI MP, The Masterless have put together guidelines for successful conduct in the foyer and in game. Here's a link to it, if you're interested:
