no official news yet,
PLUS that patch has a bug, a biggie - have not got it working here yet, it wont recognise my install of VI,

suspect this is not the official release,
at least i damn well hope it's not....

Nothing official from CA or Acxtivision and its not on Activisons support page with other patches, but some early reports over at tw.com say it does the trick? ...LOS

The issue being addressed was unifying the MP lobbies so that people could talk together whether or not they had VI.

It would be impossible to get MTW players into VI games and vice versa because the battle logic is different.

i suspect the patch demands a registry recognised copy of VI,
am currently installing a copy thru Win,

then will check if thats why the patch is chucking a wobbly,

then i will check what files are required and make a modders copy of the patch,
'cause i know that i am not the only peep with more than one copy of VI on their system...
later,
B.

If you have more than 1 copy of VI the patch cant find the proper path? would putting an installer to choose a path on it help? if not I await your patch B as I have multiple copies of VI on my HD...los P.S. I installed the patch succesfully on my last clean copy of VI, I have 5 versions on my HD this one was unmodded and it found it just fine and updated fine...LOS

i had none of my VI installs in the registry,
i have multiple boot options is why,

once i entered a copy in the registry the patch worked,

have gathered the required files and uploaded them,
http://www.totalwar.org/Downloads/Mtw_Uploads/MTWupload/
simply backup the following files
version.inf and Medieval_TW.exe
and copy the content of the zip into the required Medieval Directory

Thanks B it worked like a charm, I now have all my modded versions neatly patched, good show...LOS :pat:P.P.S I am now removing all patched data as it turns out to not be the official patch, so who knows where it came from and what the hell it contains, this is not good at all... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
