straight from IGN..

Activision announced today that Rome: Total War is on-target for a Fall 2004 release. This puts us a year out from getting our hands on the latest in the Total War series, but it's still reassuring to know that everything is going according to plan.

If you haven't checked out the previews yet, Rome: Total War is already making us smile: it was a runner-up in our Best of E3 awards for Game of Show. Not shabby.

More details on the game as they tumble in.

Talk about slippage.. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif

(Sorry if this was already posted =/)

I found the same date on Gamespot (ick) and posted it in the colluseum last night, since the two dates agree it does look like Autumn 2004 is a solid date. It is always good to have confirmation - now we can all pick a comfy chair to sit and wait in

Why not, I'll have a better PC by then http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

(note to the impatient: in press-release language Fall = pre-Xmas)

Seen the same release date aswell on Gamespot sometime ago, Q3/2004.
Long time away from now. To bad, but hardly anything that can be done about it I think.

I'm kindda fine with the slippage http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif , for I'll be able to play M:TW even more There's still so many campaings I want to play and it really doesn't matter that a few of them I already finished. Some 3 times http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

If I've learnt anything from waiting for games I want to buy, its that the only conclusive proof you'll every get of a release date is when you have a game CD sat in you drive installing. So just sit back and relax; you'll live much longer http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif
