There are dozens of female portraits to choose from once you get to 500 posts and are allowed to choose your own avatar.

You aren't the first to make such a request. There are no options to help you at this very moment. As a Junior Patron you are stuck with what you have. As Shinano said, once you reach 500 posts you will have your choice from hundreds of avatars, some of which are female.

The other choice isn't as complete but you could get it sooner than 500 posts. That is using a URL Avatar (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=13;t=9885;st=25) described by TosaInu just over halfway down the page on the link provided. This option is only available to Junior Members, which you could be in about a week after being promoted to Senior Patron. The drawback is that only patrons who use the custom skin in their profile will see it or those who click on the regular avatar you have. Hopefully the link above will explain it clearly to you. If not, post back with your questions.

i posted some custom avatars in the tavern, either the gallery iii thread, gallery ii thread or the picture thread. some i've taken down. some are still there. shld be a few female ones in there.
