Ive been playing STW a while now but i see all these nice graphical close up screenshots. Im wondering how you get in that close to see units and how the graphics are that good? Do i need to increase my resolution?

Welcom Lord Mango http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif. Are you talking about the Rome: Total War screenshots? And, nobody is a n00b, there is just some people who are new.

I'm really no expert, but can you give me a link to the screenshots. Maybe it could be some issue with your computer.
*It should be welcome, not welcom*

thats the best i could find. There were ones in as close as the pics in the inside cover of warlord edition with that detail. It was a bunch of guys fighting inside a castle wall on the RTS portion of the game with good detail. I couldnt find the ones from b4 sorry

I should've said it before, but I was a little short on time. If you can post your system specs here it would be a lot easier.
Have you updated your game with the latest patch and updated your video card with the latest drivers?
IF you haven't patched the game with the latest 2.01 version
Right-click on the icon that you use to start the game.
Click on Properties.
Find the Target line; it should read something like . . .
C:\Program Files\Total War\Medieval - Total War\Medieval_TW.exe -strictserver
be careful here.
Click on the line at the end, and then add the term -ian
this should allow you unlimited camera.

Greetings Lord Mango. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Welcome to the Org.
Have you used the - key on the keypad to lower the camera as far down as it will go?
One other consideration is your graphics card. I remember when barocca was showing me some screen shots from his PC for a mod he was making. I was floored at how much better and more detailed his screen shots were. According to barocca, there are two sets of graphic images used in the game - a hires set and a lowres set. The game apparently evaluates which is best for your PC and uses that set. I was using a Voodoo3 at the time and was getting the lowres images. I don't recall what kind of graphics card he had at the time. So that may be another possible explanation.
