Hello all.

I was wondering if you could help me with something.
Your see I have 3 problems. One isnt so much of a problem Just annoying. so here goes:

1- Is there a way to change english's culture to pagan with out having the error pop up about the armies not being pagan

2- the unit I created dont have swords.. they swing nothing.

3- On the battle field, the tool bar where it shows all your units, There is no Icon for the unit. I sure 2 and3 are simple little problems.. Ty all for your time;

hi newbie, maybe i can help a bit with your problems:
1 - the easiest way to fix this is to change in crusaders_unit_prod11 in column 54 (using GnomeEditor)the units' culture (just type in PAGAN after the original label)for all the units you want to be used by the english.
2 - there might be many reasons why your unit has no sword, one of them is that the weapons coordinates are not correct
3 - i dont really understand which unit you are thinkig about...so cant help in this case

OK vlad-demstra http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif I can explain ya a thing or two.
The way I deal with that kinda problem: in the BIF's folder that I use for a new made unit( like for example Total War\Medieval - Total War\Textures\Men\ChainHlm), there is a weapons.txt file where the weapons coordinates at. That coordinates have to match to a position of a weapon in all frames of appropriate BIF files (like ChainHlm.BIF and ChainHlm_H.BIF). You can get such coordinates by opening one of extracted frames of that BIF (the low resolution one)in some painting program (I use PaintShopPro7). http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif
But you might have a problem not because of the weapons coordinates. There might be something wrong in the action page file of your unit. To avoid problems with that file I always use a renamed file of the most similar (when talking about actions performed by that unit) unit to the one I am making. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

If you can see your unts but NOT the weapons then is is not your computer.They are all just rendered images.

I suspect you hav'nt got a full set of weapons co-ords in the Men/Items folder for that unit. It's difficult to explain because so many things are inter-related when changing unit animations.

Read the sticky in the Dungeon called All about ANimations ... - it should explain how things fit together and what all of the relationships are.
