MTW and VI

I saw MTW cheap at the store, and I was going to run back and pick it up. After browsing the forums and websites a bit, it seems that VI is patched more current, and some seem to think that the AI is noticably better in VI. Should I pick up VI as well if it has better AI?

If you can afford it, get VI too. It has several really nice improvements to the game apart from the AI plus it adds the Viking campaign which some people like better (larger isn't always better).
