hi all.

im wondering how to get the russians (i know its spelled N sum thing but i wont make a prat out of myself by spelling it wrong http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif )

to be a playable faction in the early era.

ive had a go at modding it but i cant seem to get it to work.

plz post links if this has been covered before (if so im sorry, i never get on with searches) or post clear instructions how to.

Hope these help, you have to play around a little, save and test a lot or else you will get into trouble. Post back if you have any more questions.

Oh one more thing. I think that there are some hardcoded events that occur and some wealth issues with the Nov's so adjust your starting wealth, resources, and units, otherwise they might wither and die real quick. I'd give them a few ships so that they have Baltic sea trade. Also, play test with a command line switch so that you can see what happens.

One thing I didn't see in the links.

You need to get offices copied to early for Novgorod.

go to campmap=>startpos

in the High section scroll down to AddOffice:: FN_RUSSIAN

copy all of this to the bottom of the AddOffice section in the Early folder.

change RUSSIAN to NOVGOROD

This should give you all the offices for buildings; I forget who to thank for this excellent suggestion...the way I used to do it deleted a normally playable faction
