Hello all,

As I was modding in Note I kept getting a MEMORY ERROR so I put it in WORD and it seems to be doing fine. Witch do you all like better?

Wordpad by far, it essentially has a much greater capacity. Keep notepad as the small scale windows tool it was designed for, i.e. readmes and config editing. And do everything else in wordad. BTW there are plenty of decent free/share ware text editor out there if you fancy a change http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I never trusted wordpad with its seemigly automatic formatting, but in windows 2000, Notepad actually is buggy I wish I had my win98 version.

notepad in xp has a larger capacity than it did in other o/s versions. it also has the advantage that it saves files exactly as loaded or entered. it doesnt add any formatting control codes. wordpad does...in some instances. this makes notepad better for some things, like hacking text files that you dont want any extra control codes in. wordpad can do this too, but you wanna make sure you dont enter any formatting controls when using wordpad for this and that includes changing font sizes and so on.

TextPad is another good one. I use it for html editing, but it would work for modding, too.
