So my question is: I made a new building (Forester) and it generates mining income. I wonder if you know how to change it. I mean what I want is that in a description it says sth like this mine bla bla bla... and I dont mean the description that you can find in names.txt file, but the one that is just below building upgrades list.
Is there a way to change the word mine for lets say facility or sth else? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
Maybe its all because

really i don't understand what you are trying to say, but maybe if you entered the crusader build prod file you can change the type of income from mining income to farming income in which case natural events would affect which would be accurate this is what you are looking for right.

P.S also i would like to make the point all my modding experiance is with Viking Invasion not 1.1 thanks.
Post Edit:i really think that the info parchments for Buildings and ect are images i was looking just then through the files and they are .bif this means that they are compressed or written by the computer in the same language as the models for units so if you're very careful you can convert them and edit them by changing the text on the image. i understand why CA did this but it is a hassel for modders.thanks dessa

Well thats not what I was asking about. You see when the building description scroll comes up ingame there is a BIF picture in the background - and thats fine, in the foreground there is building's name at the top, description of a building below that name, under that description there is a headline Possible Upgrades with those upgrades listed below, and finally under the list of possible upgrades there is Generated Income line with description like this: This mine is capable of extracting the following resources here, yielding the specified annual income. Forest - 41 Florins And the problem is I dont know how to change that underlined word mine to eg. facility. Is it clear now? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif
And I have to tell you that the label for my buiding (Forester) is TROOP PRODUCER and has nothing to do with my problem.
EC im am pretty sure that is hard not soft like the rest you could change it to farm income this would be helpful by making foresters affected by weather ect and farm might be more likley like a tree farm so this might be better.
NOTE:I AM NOT SURE OF THE SIDE EFFECTS OF CHANGING THE INCOME TYPE TO FARM.

hi all
one quick question.
how do i get polish retainers back in the early period. as in before any patches/expansions. when you could get them with in 5 turns of starting. i cant seem to find the lines on units build requirments so any help is appreciated,

Open crusaders_unit_prod11.txt with GnomeEditor and in column 20 change HIGH,LATE to ALL_PERIODS.

ok thanks but will that mean i can get all units early? cus if so thats not hat i want. i want to keep it exactly as it is cept have retainers in early like they were in original (before patch)
like before 1206 i dont want to be able to build chivalric (sp) units.
