What's a good place for a holiday ?

Hi ppl,

Has anyone been to any of these 3 places ?
I heard that Maldives is a dream, but what about Thailand and Mexico ?

Thailand is interesting in an under-developed kind of way. For that matter so is Mexico. They can both be great fun as long as you remember to only drink IMPORTED bottled water. Even the local sodas and beer are not 100% safe.

If you have a romantic acquaintance then I would most assuredly set off for the Maldives. I have never been there personally, but from what I have read and seen on television it is quite splendid.

Wherever you do go, make certain to take your time and enjoy your travels. These little breaks are what make working all worth while.

Go to southern thailand for sure I havnt travelled up in the northern region but its supposed to be cool to I went to Co Semui i think thats the place its been a couple of years. and they have very good knock off watches if you know wer to go http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Well, I haven't been to Mexico, Thailand, or the Maldives. But I've seen a lot of movies. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

One of the first rules of American cinema is that you should NEVER travel to Mexico. You could get eaten by vampires, as in From Dusk to Dawn. Or you could have a doomed romance with Penelope Cruz and be thrown into a Mexican prison - as in All the Pretty Horses.

I think the only place more dangerous than Mexico in US cinema is crazy backwoods communities in the rural south. See: Deliverance, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, or Southern Comfort. Luckily, you didn't suggest travelling to any rural areas in the American south.

Anyway, Mexico is definitely out.

The only disturbing movie I've seen about Thailand is Brokedown Palace. The moral of the film is that it is a really bad idea to try to bring drugs into Thailand. So, if your idea of a great vacation includes drugs... skip Thailand.

That leaves the Maldives. I don't think I've ever seen a movie about the Maldives. Therefore, it's probably perfectly safe. Enjoy

Go to Mexico. As an added bonus, if you go to Tijuana, I can show you where to go, take you across to San Diego for the Zoo and Sea World and possibly eliminate the need to get a hotel room.

I have been in Mexico, spent 1 month there, travelling cheap, using buses etc....
I don't know about the expensive places, but all I can say is DON'T FORGET TOILET PAPER.
Apart from that it is worth the trip.
