Will the .Org go Roman?

The face of the Org certainly changed near to the release of MTW and I was wondering if it will do so again when RTW is near release? Your thoughts?

My thought was to do that, not sure when to start with it. The previous change was done after the release of MTW.

It won't hurt at all to make one or more skins with a RTW theme right now. It's not really the staff anymore who decides how you view these forums as anyone can choose a skin.

There's a option to display a custom avatar since a few months, so perhaps the theme skins should have matching theme avatars only?

Would be nice if the Sword Dojo keeps the Sengoku look, the Main hall keeps the Medieval look and the colosseum is changed to a Roman look...the colosseum could be changed before Rome comes out and then the Tavern, Jousting fields etc could be made roman after it comes out.

I tried the Shogun skin, but it hurts my eyes, I much prefer the darker tan-like colour of the Ikonboard Med.

Regarding the mainpage: When with the help of the other staff I conducted the facelift of the mainpage from STW to MTW, - just after the release of the game - I did feel it was kinda late - IMHO the facelift to RTW should be made soon...preparations should be made to finish everything by latest Spring 2004. (RTW is due Autumn)

Moroever, there are many many sites with a Roman theme already and the Org gotta catch up a little if it wants to maintain its status http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

off-topic As a matter of fact, I did think he deserved a life sentence. And I think that it's entirely realistic.

on-topic I'm thinking that the .Org should consider going Roman about a month before release. It may seem that there is pressure to do so before that but the thing to remember is that the game is now and will continue to be a future, intangible event until its release. As such, I don't believe that the focus of the .Org should shift until it becomes imminent.

I suppose the Org will change appearance when the Org changes appearance. Usually it's best to wait until the game is released that way the graphics selecion can be maximized. The org is the Org no matter what the game is, so appearance is sort of low on the priority of things. What's high will be RTW game support and tech help, and redesignating the forums to best get information out.

Now what would you guys rather have the Org staff doing - noodling with pretty pics or solving your problems with RTW v1.0 ??

well if you want i can design some graphics for the org in thier new layout. The main page is really out of date and needs an update and overhaul (links wise at the very least)
