While doing a little cruising around To the Game I came across these interesting screenies for a game just released in the UK called Castlestrike.

It is a mission based RTS set during the 100 years war. The interview linked below said that there will be a lot of castle assaults and defenses plus open field battles. Obviously weather and time of day or night are also modeled in the game. It's got artillery too--Drool

It's not out in the US yet, but there is a demo at the developer's site.

Gosh, I love finding stuff like this.

I've played a demo-it's nothing too special really-just your standard medieval RTS fare with a slightly enhanced castle building engine and a good peasant management system-you simply set the proportion of peasants building and or resource collecting, and then say to which extent you want them to go for the individual resources(33%iron, 16.5% stone and 16.5% wood for example) and they'll allocate them selves to the tasks automatically.

Nope, all Castle Strike shots…

I have had it for few days now, played few missions, and it's… Neat. Sincerely, it's a nice game, but after Total War, all other similar games can only be… Neat.

I've played the demo as well.

It plays with a cumbersome interface, and the making of the castle and then the defending is not interesting and such it bores quite quickly. Back to Stronghold, a better game if you ask me :)

Rising Sun,

You were right about the Data Becker link. It is fixed now.

Sorry

A fellow Stronghold fan? I didn't think anyone liked Stronghold anymore (except for me).

I played the demo to Castle Strike and it bored me. There was nothing interesting about it at all. I can't remember that much about it right now. All I can remember is thinking that it was horrible.

It's quite an interesting game. The castle building, the things that come with it, defending your castle... it kept me busy for quite some time, but I've moved on to Sim City 4 ^_^

I was never able to get into Simcity 4 for some reason. I can't really figure out why. Maybe I was sick of doing the same thing every game. Who knows?
