PBM - play by mail, otherwise known as PBEM, play by e-mail.

In MTW, it means that one player plays one king's reign and when that king dies, they send the save game by e-mail to another player to play the successor.

In turn-based multiplayer games (ie not MTW), PBM means playing your turn and then sending the savegame to your opponent to play his and return it to you etc. With the rise of real-time games and networks/internet connections, PBM is getting rarer. Before, it was very common amongst wargamers.

Why not join any of the current PBEM going on at the moment and experience the fun factor in it?http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I suggest Kingdom of Aragorn as the situation is very delicate in that. (plus it needs a king..)

I'd like to... But I've made a set of modifications to my game (basically on unit availability and factional behaviour) that I don't think I would give up. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-confused.gif
