Many years ago, a wonderful games company called Cinemaware released a game called Defender of the Crown........

The game has now been rewrote and released as a new and improved version called -

Robin Hood - Defender of the Crown.

Does anybody else have this game ? and if so, what doyou think ?

Don't have the new one, but I remember the old one very fondly IIRC, it was the first game I ever got for my Atari 520STFM. I then proceeded to give myself RSI because the only way I could win the swordfights when raiding was clicking 'lunge' repeatedly as fast as possible

Showing how young I am I suppose...

I LOVED the original version. I absolutely LOVED it.

The new version has got very poor reviews. It is supposed to be exactly the same as the initial release so people are not very happy about it.

There is a review at www.gamershell.com

Ah ... the old times...

I loved to play this game and some of the other Cinemaware games on my old Amiga.

from what I've heard the new version, however, is rather a disappointment so I will keep on cherishing my memories...

Coming to think of it ... I might try to get The Bard's Tale running on my new comp tonight... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Might be time to break out Monkey Island I upgraded from 512K to 1MB RAM to play that, and it was worth it

Now. that's what I call heroic attitude Running XP by any chance? I managed to run Master of Magic under XP with no problems at all, after failing under Me http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif isn't that funny?

Yep ... It's XP now (since I got my new comp 3 weeks ago).

Did not get to give BT a try yesterday night ... I wonder if I still find my way around in Skara Brae and some of the early dungeons without a map...

Ahh ... the fun of trying to level up an early party of weaklings - and the shock of encountering 7 barbarians with a level 1 party http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif

I played the RH - DoK demo and wasn't impressed at all, it was interesting but it seemed limited. How does the demo compare to the rest of the game?
