Great, THANK YOU I never tried audio books out, but I intended to do so for a while now. Next time I'm on a trip I'll stuff some of these into my car CD player and give it a try http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-book2.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-thumbsup.gif

You mean pdf e-books?

I dont think that site does anything in pdf... only in mp3.

A quick web search did bring up a number of sites that do.

Oh, mine… They have Mein Kampf too… It says (by Adolf Hitler). I don't think my poor CD player would survive that shock http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-glasses2.gif

Unfortunately the free 8 KBPS are horrible. I downloaded Man Who Would Be King by Kipling and could barely understand a single word. Pity. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

Yeah... unfortunately the 8kb stuff is not great quality http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

But seeing as the stuff is entirely free, I cant really complain at all

In this months (UK) PCFormat, they included over 60hrs (of the high quality, 48kb mp3s) of Sherlock Holmes audiobooks. That is the entire collection AFAIK. Not bad http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif Its great to listen to them on the go on my Creative Zen. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

and just to add to this topic, www.downloads.com now also has free mp3's. these arent audiobooks, but rather music files. and no, it's not going to be a free kazaa thing or something, so dont look for a lot of mainstream stuff there. but i was browsing around and they have some interesting selections.

and, for those aspiring to a little more credit and attention on their own works, you can even upload stuff and possibly get it available to the public. nice service.
